Head on over to the website for the full written review – www.bjjgearjunkie.com Overview X Guard has released a service allowing you to create your own custom bjj rash guard. What a cool idea! All you need to do is tell them your current rank and email them the image you would like placed on the front of the rash guard. The shoulders of the rash guard will display your ranks color so it will be legal for IBJJF competitions. The Fit I was pleased with the fit. I’m 5’7 about 165 lbs currently and they sent me a large to review. I felt no discomfort in the armpit area even though it does have a seam there. I prefer my rash guards to fit tight rather than baggy and this had the right amount of compression in my opinion. I sound like a broken record in every one of these rash guard reviews, but I do wish it was a bit longer so that it wouldn’t ride up while rolling. Durability When it comes to the stitching on the X Guard custom rash guard I was pleased and found no issues. Even after washing and hang drying close to 20 times everything was staying together like it should. When it comes to the material itself I would put it somewhere between the Scramble Bushido Athletics rash guard and the extremely durable Rupture PTSi rash guard. Meaning try and keep it away from any gear that has Velcro on it to avoid any pilling. The Cool Factor The cool factor is without a doubt the ability to place any image you want on a rash guard. This means you can sport your schools logo, your …

Be sure to read the full written review here: www.bjjgearjunkie.com Overview What a cool concept and sick design for a Bjj rash guard. Often times skilled fighters and Bjj players are referred to as “beasts” or “he/she is such a beast!” Props to Manto for tapping into the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu culture and producing this product. I first saw this rash guard on Dean Lister at the 2011 ADCC event as he smashed through his divisions. Now I know what everyone is thinking, but I can tell you that just because you put this rash guard on and step out on the mat, it does not make you a beast. I learned this the hard way while reviewing it! The Fit Ok so I’m 5’7 and about 170 lbs right now. I chose to review this rash guard in a medium size. It fits well, not too baggy and not too tight. I may have mentioned this before, but I prefer my rash guards to fit tight like an extra layer of skin. When they are baggy on me it feels like I’m wearing a t-shirt under my Gi and it drives me nuts. I was pleasantly surprised to notice that I did not seem to have any big issues with the bottom riding up. Most rash guards are guilty of this, but for the most part the Manto Beast rash guard tends to stay in place. The one issue that I did have with the fit is an issue I have talked about in the past. There is a seam that runs right under the armpit. This can cause some discomfort sometimes because it rubs and irritates the skin. I know Manto is aware of this issue because with their long sleeve rash …
Rupture claims they have developed the most advanced rash guards in the world, yes I know that’s a bold statement. Is it true, or just marketing fluff? The cool factor of the Rupture PTSi rash guard most certainly is it’s durability for me. A close second is the styling of the red and black version. I know there are tons of brands out there making red and black colored gear in the MMA/BJJ scene, but this one just catches my eye. Be sure to check out the video review for a closer look!
www.bjjgearjunkie.com I’d waited a long time to get my hands on the Scramble Bushido Rash Guard. With its stylish looks and cool 3/4 sleeve design in my mind it was something different, and that meant I had to review it. Be sure and check out the full review for more pictures and details!
